Prevent Back Pain for Golfers
November 1, 2007 | under Golf Fitness |
Back pain is a common injury to many golfers. It is important to take care of our backs during a round of golf and even strengthening it so that we can enjoy the great game of golf.
The are many reasons for back injury. One factor that came straight to my mind is the lack of proper warming up before a round of golf. As golfers, we are always anxious to head straight to the tee box and start the round of golf. However, a proper and good warm up is essential to prevent injuries.
The back is one of the most “vulnerable” part of the body in golf. Due to the nature of a golfswing, the back is subject to stress during the twisting of the torso in the back swing and follow through. Without proper technique, back injuries can happen.
Another reason is swinging too hard. Many golfers like to swing hard to hit a further distance. We all know this is not always the case. Swinging too hard can put strain to the back. Coupled with insufficient warmup, back injury sets in.
