We all keep score during our golf games. Or maybe I should say most of us do. Even we do, after the game we will just drop the cards in the boxes in your home club. How many golfers actually keep their golf scorecard to help improve their game ?
Never play a round of golf without your scorecard. You may have heard this before, but it’s worth repeating: A scorecard can help you improve your golf game tremendously.
Not only does the card provide you with an outlay of the course, but by bringing your previous scorecard of the same course with you, you literally have a map that highlights what shots need to be improved.
It is a good habit, during every game, to keep track of the scores and shots you made during your round of golf. Take note of the number of shots you need to reach the green, did you hit the fairway, the number of putts you take, and many other information on your round of golf. Even pros take note of this during their practise rounds. This record can help you compare the scores of the same course you play and see how you can improve and which hole you can play differently the next time.
It may sound tedious but it is a good habit to start. There are very affordable tools out there to help you keep track of your scores and provides statistical report for your round, for a specific course, etc. Being able to analysis and view your game will help you prepare better for the next round of golf.
It will also provide you on your area of improvement and that should be your goal for next trip to the driving range. Make every trip to the driving range counts.
