Exciting PGA Championship

The first round of the PGA Championship held at the Southern Hills Country Club in Oklahoma, was as exciting as any of the majors.  Similar, to the last few majors, the leaderboard after the first rounds shows many names who are not usually on the leaderboard.  Leading the pack is Graeme Storm with a score of 5 under par.

Guess who is second on the leaderboard ?  It is John Daly again.  JD is in familiar territory again - same as the last major he played.  I hope this time, he can last on the leaderboard.

Padriag Harrington, just winning the British Open, scored a -1 for the first round and still very much in contention.

Tiger Woods, still “majorless” this year,  will be working very hard in this last major of the year.  He is not in the top 10 at this moment with a score of 1 over par for the day.

Another pro who has yet to win a major this year is Phil Mickelson.  You bet he will also be trying hard to secure a win in the last major of the year.  With a score of +3 on the first round, put him 8 shots of the leader Storm.

Anyway, no point speculating.  There are three more days to go and there are plenty more action to come.  All players in the field can still win the major.  Golf is so competitive nowadays that the leaderboard changes so frequently.

This is going to be one exciting weekend….
