Knowing how to play golf in a windy condition will definitely help you in your golf scores.  One situation is where you are playing into the wind - head-wind.  The means that the wind is blowing towards you.

How to play this shot ?  Well, firstly, as the wind is blowing against the flight of the golf ball, we will need to take a longer club to reach the same distance.  If I am lining up for a shot that I would normally use a 7 iron, I would choose a 5- or 6-iron to play the same shot depending on the wind.

This will help cover the lost distance due to the head wind.  In addition, the ball flight will also be lower as the longer club will have a lesser loft - thus producing a lower flight ball path, so the wind will not affect the flight so much.

When addressing the golf ball, you may also want to choke down a little on the grip and place the ball slight further towards to the back leg.  If you are on the tee box, tee a little lower as well.
