Angel Cabrera leads at US Open
June 16, 2007 | under PGA Tour |
Angel Cabrera continue his fine play into the second day of the tournament scoring a one over-par bringing to a nett even par for the tournament. He currently leads the field going into the third day of the tournament.
Oakmont Country Club continue to challenge the world finest golfers even into the second day. Today, the weather is dry and the green is definitely much firmer than the first day. The rough continues to provide player with no save landing ground other than the fairway.
The leader Cabrera is the only player who is at even score. No player in the field is in the reds.
One player to note that played exceptionally well on this second day is Paul Casey. he has the lowest score in the field so far in the tournament. He played a beautiful 66 on the second day bring his score +3 afer 2 days.
The only other player to played under par today is Stephen Ames with a score of 69 for the day, currently tied for third.
Where is Tiger Woods ? Well, he did do as well as he did on the first day. On this second day, he played 4 over ad that brings his score to +5 for the tournament. This put him 5 behind the leader, tied in 13th. There are 2 more days to go and I am sure Tiger will try to make his move.
Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Luke Donald, Justin Leonard are part of the field that did not make the cut which was set at +10.
