Vijay Singh triumped at Arnold Palmer Invitational
March 19, 2007 | under PGA Tour, Golf Swing, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh |
Vijay Singh finally won at the Arnold Palmer Invitational held at Bay Hill in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. Vijay must be one of the happiest man then when he won the tournament. He has not won a single tournament since playing at Bay Hill more than a decade ago.
“I knew how difficult Bay Hill plays on Sunday,” Vijay said. “It was a good feeling to be standing on 18 tee knowing that you don’t have to make a par to win the tournament.” Vijay came in with a score of 67 in the final round, giving him a two stroke win.
Tiger Woods, who also played in the tournament had a bad week at Bay Hill; even donating a few balls to the water hazard during this last round. Woods played a last round score of 76 putting him in 22nd position. This is the highest score he ever played for years. If Tiger wants to continue his streak, he definitely have to do better than this. I believe he will be the man to watch in his next tournament.
Rocco Mediate and Vaughn Taylor came in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
