It is not uncommon for a golfer to be overwhelmed by the choices one have when it comes to choosing a golf ball.  Although they all look the same, but they are made different.  It can be challenged trying to tell the differences in each one of them; especially beginners.  They are all round and white.  Well, one thing I can tell is that they come in many different and nice packagings…..

Price can be a factor in deciding the choice of golf balls.  A dozen of new golf balls can set you back between USD 10 to USD 50.  And of course, used ones will be cheaper and maybe the best choice for beginners.  Even x-out balls can be considered for beginners which may have minor glitches during manufacturing.  More advanced players who knows and can feel the difference a ball makes to his game, will spurge more on balls to improve their games.

One important note, especially for beginners, is not to choose balls based on what your favorite players are playing.  This may not suit you.  One example, is I personally like Titleist NXT Tour which provides me good distance and direction.  Not being too ambitous, it works great for me.  However, my friend told me that Titleist NXT Tour does not work for him at all.  So, bottom line is to choose a ball that provides you the best feel you want and that works for you.

Another thought I have on selecting the golf balls for your game, is to keep trying the different balls and see which suits you best.  You can buy balls in sleeves of three instead of buying them the dozen.  And better still if you can buy used golf balls to play.  For used ones, I would recommended get good condition ones that are cheaper than new but should be close to the condition of new ones.  Using old and used balls will not help in choosing as the scratches and marks may alter the ball effectiveness.

The other factors that you may want to consider are the ball types, compressions, etc.  I will cover this in another post soon.

Happy reading….
