What equipments do beginners need ?
January 25, 2007 | under Golf Equipments, Beginners |
Many of my friends picking up golf for the first time usually ask the questions “what golf equipments should I buy ?” or “What golf clubs would you recommend for beginners ?”.
The answer to the questions depends on how far are they into golf right now.
For beginners starting to take golf lessons, I would suggest holding on to any purchase at this point of time. Get a feel of the game and see if you really like the game. You don’t want to rush off and spend money buying a new set of clubs, only to realise later that golf is not your kind of game. Anyway, when you are taking golf lessons, you should be able to loan individual clubs from the golf pro whom you are learning golf from. Or better still, if you have have a friend who happen to have a spare set lying around. Go borrow from him. This should be sufficient for the beginning phase.
If you really want to set your own golf clubs, I would suggest getting a single club first, instead of a full set. As a beginner, the early stage of golfing is to understand the basics of the swing. A lot of time will be spent on establishing a good swing with a good rhythm. Swing changes and different golfers have different styles. At this stage, you may not be able to feel what golf clubs suits you best.
I would recommend only when you decided that golf is your game and have some basics into the game that you should get a golfing set.
Happy Golfing….
